Our sweet baby is on its way back to Netflix.
It's been a long time coming, but season 2 of the Russian Doll is coming, with a brand new trailer mocking what awaits Nadia (Natasha Lyonne) and Alan (Charlie Barnett) in the latest episodes.
The chapter launched four years later after Nadia's birthday party, where she had been thrown on Groundhog Day, where she died several times while trying to escape the time loop.
Season 2 will also follow time travel shenanigans, but differently, as two of our loved ones find a time zone in New York City that will force them to deal with their past.
Netflix has noticed that it does not reveal many other details about the building, but we can confirm that the story plot took place in Manhattan's East Village in 1982.
Season 2 of the Russian Doll has also added a big name to its characters in the Emmy Schitt's Creek-winning actress Annie Murphy, whose role has been kept a big secret, for now, is described by another actress Lyonne as the "heart of the show".
Speaking about the upcoming season, Lyonne joked at Entertainment Weekly: "There are moms who are committed to that Russian Doll show – at the public level – and she's one of the good guys."
Release Date for Russian Doll season 2
Netflix has confirmed that season 2 of the Russian Doll will arrive on April 20, 2022, featuring seven episodes that will be available for download at the same time.
Production for the Russian Doll's second season was initially due to begin in 2020, but there was a significant setback when the coronavirus stopped the world.
The filming was officially delayed as we all went into the closet; as revealed by Deadline, the cameras do not enter the latest episodes until a full year later.
Season 2 of the Russian Doll
Natasha Lyonne will once again play the role of Nadia Vulvokov in the new series – it comes as no surprise as she received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her debut.
Alan, a time-loop star, played by Charlie Barnett of Chicago Fire, is also set to return with friends Nadia Maxine (Greta Lee) and Lizzy (Rebecca Henderson).
Another familiar face fans can expect to see in the second season is Nadia's distraught mother, Lenora (Chloë Sevigny), and her beloved family friend and caregiver, Ruth Brenner (Elizabeth Ashley).
It has also been announced that Schitt's Creek star Annie Murphy has joined season 2 actors in a top-secret role, which Lyonne described as "the heart of the show".
Their role has not yet been revealed following the news that Sharlto Copley (Region 9) and Carolyn Michelle Smith (House of Cards) will also play in the second round.
The Russian Doll will be made four years after Nadia's 36th birthday party in the first season, when Nadia repeatedly dies while trying to escape the time loop.
However, Nadia (Natasha Lyonne) and Alan (Charlie Barnett) will not be able to ride easily in season 2, when both will face a "worse than eternal death" ending.
The Netflix summary reads: "This season, it finds Nadia and Alan deep in their transition through an unexpected timeline found in one of Manhattan's most notorious celebrities.
Is there a season 2 trailer for Russian Doll?
The first full-length trailer for the 2nd season of the Russian Doll came down in April 2022, just two weeks before the new episodes were made available for broadcast on Netflix.
Earlier, Netflix shared a captioned trailer confirming the release date of season 2. In the clip, Nadia gets stuck in a subway train and later raises a drink to announce: "When f ** ks you, let it go."
